What
is Cotton Theory?
Cotton Theory Quilting
is a unique patented process of Quilt First Then Assemble.
Welcome to the world of
Cotton Theory Quilting where you will find three-dimensional seams,
reversible binding and a whole new way to construct your quilt!
Cotton Theory Quilts are unlike traditional quilts
which are pieced together, layered with batting and then quilted.
All Cotton Theory projects are quilted first, one segment at a
time and then assembled using Betty Cotton's fold-and-finish procedures.
This method of quilting produces a reversible quilt with decorative
stitching and optional machine embroidery.
All
work is done with a sewing
machine and there is no need for any
handwork. During the assembly of a Cotton Theory project, you sew
the raw edges of your quilt pieces together, leaving seam allowances
that are folded on the outside of your quilt and then stitched in place
using one of the Cotton Theory techniques. This adds extra
dimension to the surface.
It's fast, fun, and completely unique.
